I love this idea of monthly homework activities that actively involve the parents and students. It's even better since they're moving away from the traditional pen and paper or question and answer worksheets!
Homework should be fun and different every day #acuedu_p
Teachers who put #relationships first soon discover they don't have students just for one year; they end up having #students who view them as 'their' #teacher for life.
Kindy loved the scavenger hunt activity in maths. Students had to find shapes around the classroom and sort it into groups. They were so proud that they asked me to take a photo to send to their class teacher. #acuedu_p
Just a few things I bring on a casual day!

โFast finishers task cards
โTeacher for a day by Kelly Quilter (if no day plan has been provided)
โ'While you were out' sheet for the class teacher
โPost-it note & pen (in every bag) ๐

People who aren't or don't know teachers think teaching is easy. It is the challenge which makes teaching satisying. Making a difference in one student's life makes the challenge worthwhile. #ACUedu_p
Successful first casual day with Year 6! You know you've done well when the students request for you to be their regular teacher ๐ #ACUedu_P#teacherforaday
Establishing a good rapport with each student has helped me personalise 27 bookmarks. Each one created based on what they love! Will try my best to hold back my tears tomorrow ๐ #ACUEDU_p#studentgifts#endofterm2
I had a great time at the bush trackers excursion with stage 2. Students were encouraged to think and act like scientist at Werrington Lakes for the day. Definitely a great site study to explore biodiversity, Aboriginal culture and connection to Country #ACUEDU_p#stage2
If youโre in need of inspiration, my best advice to you is to talk to some kids. Genuinely get to know them. In my experience, an awareness of how cool they are... an understanding of how needy they are... reminds me of how important my work is. It motivates me to keep going.
