Cat-ass-thropy
I have this habit of leaving my computer running and then wandering off to do other things. Make coffee, feed/water the chickens, invade and restore Great Britain, you know, daily wants.
But I have 4 full-time, indoor cats and 2 part-time indoor cats. And I’m starting to believe they are learning how to edit computer settings. Or maybe one is a computer tech, and he/she is teaching the others. And this is why.
I never sit down and go online with the same browser (not by choice). I use Chrome, but DuckDuckGo, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Mozilla, Brave, Safari, and Yahoo are what come up when I go online, so I go into settings and restart Chrome as the default.
Then, 2 days ago, I went online, and 11 Chrome browsers opened to 11 different pages with a single click. This was a new one for me; I didn’t even know that was possible. But back I went into settings and start digging. And there's a setting where you can open as many pages as you want, all at once, with a single click.
So it appears I have a cat who isn’t just some fly-by-night computer tech; this cat is actively forcing me to learn the limits of computer settings, one step at a time. A verifiable computer-savvy tech guru with purrs and fur. I’m rapidly beginning to suspect Polo (PO). This all started shortly after Po appeared in our driveway and ended up becoming our cat (or we ended up being his people).
And this puts us in a bit of a quandary. I made the call last week and scheduled PO and Charlie for “The Snip!” Now, while I know Po is a fairly mellow cat and quite lovey, I fear he may exact vengeance over the loss of his beans. And, if I’m correct in my assumptions that Po is in fact a computer wizard, things could get quite ugly.
If Po is any type of real computer wizard, passwords are most likely already breached and overwritten with secondary passwords. He would also have access to my finances and social media.
So if next week, you see posts from me that don’t make sense. Suspect Po.
