@mcsetty@coL_Amazonian An untapped artifact land that you can cycle from play would potentially be fairly powerful in various 60 card formats, the regular artifact lands are banned in Modern, for good reason.
@coL_Amazonian There's versions of this card that come in untapped, but I don't think any of them are on arena. Holdout Settlement is the one that comes to mind, I think there's also a desert that does it
@CubeApril I think (maybe naively) that defined guidelines and wider brackets will make a big difference to this vs 1-10 on an arbitrary scale. Most players who default to a 7 can correct to a more accurate power level given examples.
@itsmeitswill@BengineeringTV I mean it was kinda both. The original design only triggered off opponents abilities, it got changed too late in the dev process to test properly https://t.co/q35HSl1Xgp
The article is well worth a read.
@Fugiman I'm hardly a pro, but I've been playing since day 1 and can clear all the content, so I'm happy to answer questions/ lend a hand if you'd like advice from a stranger.
@Fugiman Also that 5 minute meeting might have cost you 30mins of productivity, but saved that junior dev from 2 hours of going in circles trying to figure something out.
@CubeApril Very variable depending on format and MV of the permanent. Given limited removal costs Ward 3 is a tall ask, but put Ward 3 on a 6 drop in Commander and it's not doing anywhere near as much. Ward 2 on a 2 drop means that 2 drop is sticking around for a while basically anywhere
@incorrect_mtg I hate how many official treatments wouldn't have been allowed in tournaments 5-10 years ago if they were alters. Combined with the quantity of new cards, it's really hard to develop pattern recognition. There's a place for fancy game pieces, but not like this
