@CancerCytopath Yes - very feasible. We recently also published our experience with 300+ cytology samples - outlining that with proper handling, these samples are sufficient for ultra-rapid mutation screening and reflex comprehensive NGS.
Testing for kinase fusions is of particular value after resistance to endocrine therapy emerges if ESR1 is wild type as it opens another avenue for treatment. We did find (rare) kinase fusions in endocrine therapy- naive tumors as well!
