People forget that the Russos were not involved with the MCU after Endgame. They weren't immersed in the whole multiverse story. They were off making terrible movies for Netflix that would've been colossal bombs had they released theatrically.

Marvel brought them back for #AvengersDoomsday, they couldn't figure out how to get Doom in the story, so they decided to make Steve's branching timeline in the 40s the motivation.

And despite the outrage farming here, I think it's actually a cool idea...if you've been following along.

Loki established that having two variants of the same person in one reality can destabilize things.

In the branch timeline Steve created when he went back to be with Peggy, there are two Steves. The one with Peggy and the baby, and the other in an ice cube.

Two Steve Rogers in one reality would destabilize things based on the rules established in Loki, and that could lead to an incursion.

The rumor is that Doom's universe suffered an incursion, causing him to lose his child and that's his motivation for going after Steve.

But people want to ignore the context of why Steve is back and instead turn it into outrage controversy over Sam.

@jaykaska Production on multiple episodes so they just tied it into the story by teasing us with appearances of pennywise and by having IT appear as various other forms. If I had to guess Skarsgard's Pennywise will appear in episode 5 at the earliest but I could be wrong.
