Bobby Rush, American politician, activist, pastor, and the U.S. Representative for Illinois. As a civil rights activist during the 1960s, Rush co-founded the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers. He is responsible for USA's anti-lynching bill passed 2/26/2020.

The Patron Saint of rock music is Sister Rosetta Tharpe. A queer Black woman from Arkansas brought gospel music to mainstream popularity when she performed. Blending the sounds of her childhood with jazz, blues, inventing a genre all of her own.

BHM 2/4/20:The 6888th was the first and only all Black Female Women Army Corps (WAC) unit to be deployed overseas during WWII. The unit was active from 1945 to 1946 and consisted of 855 women under the Command of Major Charity Adams. Their nickname was “Six-Triple Eight".
