Congratulations to year 9 student Parth who has qualified to represent UK in the World Robotic Olympiad Future Engineers to be held in Singapore. He has programmed his robot “Bob” in Python on a raspberrypi. Well done Parth.
We are delighted to announce that Mr Khan, having completed his PGCE with @_MEInstitute, is joining @MaidenErleghTru as a specialist Computer Science teacher. Welcome to the team Sir.
Another great visit from @mberry today. A great partnership between @RoehamptonUni and @_MEInstitute has given us the opportunity to mentor a fantastic trainee. It has been a genuine pleasure.
It was great to see so many year 5s enthusiastically programming the robot, trying out the programs on the Arduinos, learning how to make animated gifs and finding out about computer hardware past and present. Thank you to everyone who came along.
Our Computer Science department drew enthusiastic interest, with visitors highly engaged in interactive demonstrations, coding challenges, and lively discussions about future technologies.
Mrs Blight, Mr Khan and Mrs Blight would like to say an enormous thank you to all our wonderful student helpers in this evening’s @MaidenErleghSch open evening.
Our next thank you is for Mrs Blight!
On top of all her commitments with Computer Science department and around school..
She also gives her time freely to lead our U15 girls football team & share her Volleyball expertise and run a weekly club for us!
Thank you for all you do.
Next up in our staff thank you’s is Mr Stringer!
A qualified PE teacher in his own right, Sir spends the majority of his time now teaching our Key Stage 4 and 5 Economists and Business Studies students.
Tomorrow is the last day for Miss Jesseman & Mr Harris as they complete their training years and step into the world of teaching.
They have been two of the best trainees we have ever had! Welcome to the best job in the world. Your new students are incredibly lucky to have you!
This has not deterred him from supporting the PE team however. Whether it be running basketball practices, helping at all our sports events or running the girls cricket teams… he is always willing to help out!
Mr Stringer, you are a legend! Thank you for being part of our team.
