andrea stella praised lando's world champion drive:

"i think he's driving at the level of a world champion. it's almost like i see lando stronger and stronger race by race. lando is capable of maximising the performance in qualifying trim. and then i think when you have conditions in which the car slides in the race, there's not much grip, then i think he's the master in these kind of conditions.

[stella was not concerned by the initial setback, believing that norris has found a level of belief that enables him to play the long game] i would say that definitely he is now expressing a higher level of assertiveness, the manoeuvre to pass antonelli today i think is a really good demonstration of that. he is demonstrating a higher level of self confidence and, this is interesting and i quite like it, the self confidence sometimes is not demonstrated by being the most aggressive.

lando: "well, they're not going to say themselves, are they? they're not going to say that they're the team to beat, if they just got beaten today. so i don't think it's true. i think if i didn't get kimi when i overtook him, i don't think i would have won the race today. it's hard to say.

but i also know how good of a job i'm doing behind the wheel, and of course i'm never one to over-talk about myself, so normally i'm always the complete opposite. but for once i will give myself a little bit of credit that i feel like i'm doing a better job than everyone, and i think that can also make a difference. we certainly have a car now capable of beating them, even like we looked at yesterday in qualifying, but we didn't win yesterday, and we didn't really change much. but i worked a lot on my driving. i want to believe more than everyone else again, and we turned things around today.."

"i still believe it is possible. that's probably why subconsciously i made the decision to start training a bit earlier. when i get told i am nearly 100 points behind you don't feel like you are in it. compared to last year when i was 20-30 points behind.

i still believe i have a chance to defend my title but it's just not that i'm the main contender in the championship, first and second every weekend. there have not been many reasons to believe it is possible until budapest. obviously now it's a more genuine question"
