Wow! So many incredible posters for innovative design!
Please take a look at the nominations and consider voting for my sea witch romantasy poster.
Thank you!!!

I've seen a few cruel posts here recently, and, as a result, I would remind you all of the following:
If you're trying to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2, you're being smart.
Mask harassment - online or irl - is done by uninformed, resentful and insecure people. Ignore them.
SARS-CoV-2 is so dangerous precisely because of its insidious nature. Its propensity to continually re-infect. The superficial similarity of the symptoms it causes to those of other common viruses. The unseen risk of sequelae. That wretched molecular shark tricks almost everyone.
SARS-CoV-2 evades early immune detection, then triggers delayed hyperinflammation and long-term immune dysfunction.
Its tactics include IFN blockade, T/B-cell disruption, and autoimmunity—distinct from influenza and HIV in mechanism and aftermath.

Scientists are shifting from the “immunity debt” idea to evidence of lasting immune disruption from SARS-CoV-2.
Signs include T-cell exhaustion, viral reactivation, and increased infections—even in mild cases—raising population-level concerns.

In 10 years, when everyone knows about the long term effects of infectionist "strategies", the kids will never forgive.
And when you make ridiculous excuses like "We could not have stopped it!", they will show you this.
Severe COVID-19 leaves behind a long-lasting, systemic, and biologically measurable pro-oncogenic state
that persists for at least one year after infection and may increase cancer risk or worsen cancer prognosis🧵
In 2020 I published a paper arguing that there likely was an element of CD8 T cell death in Covid. For the following years, I was met with overall antipathy from many professors for claiming covid was harming T cells. Now, a new publication highlights persistent T cell attenuation. https://t.co/0pENAkeUhM
I was punished the sin of being correct on my matter of expertise before I had done a postdoc or graduated medical school, and for an opinion contrary to many individuals who had incentives to downplay covid or a lack of scientific imagination.
My claims were swiftboated, people tried to put words in my mouth, strawman me, and attack me personally.
Vincent Raccaniello said the claims covid was harming T cells was "twitter science." Vincent Rajkumar, the editor of Blood, said it was "nonsense." Carlos Del Rio, a professor of Infectious disease said, "I'm exhausted reading such claims from non-immunologists." One immunologist and nephrologist at the Francis Crick institute, Rupert Beale, claimed that cranks were being taken as legitimate sources while I was a medical student. An immunologist at Novartis, Andrew Croxford, mocked me as if I was a self-described 'galileo,' after Zeynep Tufekci referred to me saying, 'not every crank is Galileo.'
I'm sorry the truth had to come from someone who lacked pretense, completed fellowships, and several decades of life. It should have been enough to have published in the field, understood the issue, and have been able to articulate the rationale. There were many attacks to my livelihood and my affiliated entities, accusing me of fear-mongering. and writing pseudo-science.
One group of Professors even saw it fit to write that the T cells were "Fit and Happy" following breakthrough covid. I have never seen in history someone lampooning an individual with the title of a scientific journal article. Their aim was total demoralization. Having been subjected to this, I believe it is a very unique experience, to be met with derision from
1) Established professors
2) Journalists at the New York Times
3) Journal publications
A recent article in the BMJ highlighted how eminent immunologists are starting to believe Covid has harmed population immunity. I was included in the piece until the editor said they needed to avoid the controversy to save face, thereby erasing my advocacy and the absolutely unethical conduct of people who had fixed to attack me.
Regardless, this is a significant result. With multiple covid infections, the issue becomes even more relevant.
Please keep up to date with vaccinations and avoid covid with use of an N95 if you want to keep your immune system healthy.
COVID-19 disrupts the brain’s glymphatic system, impairing waste clearance and triggering cognitive decline, sleep issues, and fatigue.
This dysfunction raises long-term risks for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, with emerging therapies targeting clearance.

A study comparing the immune system 3 months after COVID-19 and after influenza shows something clear.
SARS-CoV-2 leaves behind a far deeper and longer-lasting immune imprint than seasonal flu.
And the difference isn’t subtle🧵
Finally finished my last COVID-related article! Some people get social pressure from peers asking why they are avoiding it, so this FAQ addresses the common issues.
Going forward, I'll be writing about totally different stuff!

A new review pulls the whole picture together. SARS-CoV-2 doesn’t just infect. It disrupts immunity at multiple levels - from interferons to inflammasomes to deep T-cell exhaustion. If you still think COVID is just a respiratory virus, this paper will change your mind🧵. @DavidJoffe64
H5N1 infections in wildfowl and poultry are increasing quickly in North America and Europe as a result of the southward migration of wild birds. With a severe flu season ahead of us, driven by H3N2, the risk of reassortment has significantly increased.

If you think COVID “is over,” read this.
T-cell overdrive → exhaustion → weaker immunity → higher reinfection vulnerability.
We’re only beginning to understand the long-term immune costs of letting this virus rip.#LongCovid#COVID19#Immunology
A new study in The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health followed nearly 14 million children in England.
It shows that SARS-CoV-2 infection leaves long-term marks on the vascular and immune system - even in kids.
Not just for weeks, but measurable up to a year later🧵
Covid raises risk of heart issues in children more than vaccination
It’s the not the “jabs” harming the kids. It’s repeat infections. https://t.co/SizYY88qe2
