What a lovely way to round off the Summer term, with a fun Science Investigation π The Forest Classroom is so cool π We always learn lots and have a good time. Here's to an excellent 6 weeks off π Enjoy everyone π
We've stayed lovely and cool in the shade today π Two of the boys had a very chilled time in the hammock they created π€£π΄If only it was connected to a palm tree π
Once they had built their dens last week it was fascinating to watch what they did inside them. They were all little home makers and the problem was actually getting them to leave the Forest Classroom ππ
We learned that Badgers need to eat 200 worms every night, so we split into teams to try to see how many we could find π It was nowhere near 200 but it was great fun and we put them back safely later π π¦‘πͺ±
We've replaced everyone's plastic bottles with reusable metal bottles, as we've been learning about reducing plastic. @BGFilmAcademy watching 'Life of a Plastic Cup' really helped us learn. Thank you #ProudofBG Ethical Elin's caring for the environment
We were lucky enough to receive a visit from @johnmewett this week and he taught us how to be litter champions. We love to learn about our environment, but now we know how to care for it too. Thank you #ProudofBG
We loved swapping our Forest Classroom for a Coastal Classroom today π Thank you to @Coastal_Craig for being our knowledgeable guide and to Llew for making sure no items of packed lunch went to waste π Can't wait to do it again π
Weβve been learning the importance of bees π so weβve created Hydration Stations, so that they can have a drink and weβre in the process of starting a mini meadow, so theyβll have more flowers to visit ππΈπ» Happy bee π Happy me π
Weβve been Mustelid experts this week π We could find Weasels, Stoats, Polecats, Mink, Pine Martens, Otters and Badgers 𦑠We played Stoat & Rabbit hide and seek, where the stoats did their hypnotic dance and some rabbits got away π
Our Nurture Nature lessons taught us what Herbivores π΄, Omnivoresπ¦and Carnivoresπlike to eat. We learned a lot and it certainly felt good when we got the correct answers π
Our Forest Classroom has seen so much action this week, itβs hard to include it all. There have been plenty of nature finds and I havenβt met a child yet that doesnβt love to blow a dandelion clock π
Weβve learned how we need to βdead headβ the daffodils so that they donβt take energy from the bulbs and they can build up their energy for next Spring. We also found some slugs eggs π
It was amazing to explore today and see how everything is in bloom πΈ Amphibians have been our topic and it was great to have a run around for our true or false game. We are amphibian experts now so our resident newt and frog πΈ are in good hands π
