We’re still looking for a home for Astrid, can you please share?
Astrid is a 5 year old female German Shepherd x Belgian Malinois. She is available and looking for a new home.
Astrid is chipped and spayed and also healthy with no medical issues.
She would suit a home with someone who is active and can give her plenty of walks and attention.
Astrid eats a mix of wet and dry food and can be left on her own.
She travels well in the van with her dog walker but can be car sick. She sleeps in her owners room at night either on the bed or her own bed on the floor.
Astrid likes to meet new people and gets excited. She would be fine around teenagers but not small children.
Astrid doesn’t like cats. She is registered with the vets.
She is fine on group walks but when she is with her owner she can be reactive to other dogs as she thinks she is protecting her owner.
A home with no other animals is best for Astrid and her needs.
She is use to spending time alone at home with background music left on for her. Astrid is excellent at letting you know when she needs the toilet. She is kept on a lead when out on walks as she can be reactive to other dogs but not all dogs. She is also use to a long lead and loves to play with her toy or a ball. Astrid sees playing with toys or a ball as a job and doesn't pay much attention to other dogs unless they come into her space.

@thescript Danny, you and the band were amazing. Loved the heartfelt message for the people of Manchester. You looked like you were having the time of your life.xx
@RiggsM82839 He has taken them from someone’s garden! Not sure what it was but the dog had 8 in his box in the garden and they were all on the road the following morning!
Make Makerfield Great Again
The foundation years of my life were in Ashton in Makerfield. I attended RL Hughes infants and junior Schools. Our year group were the first generation of secondary pupils at Byrchall High which was Ashton Grammar. My first library card was from Ashton Library. Wigan Metropolitan Borough was my parent. So I shall speak up.
Andy Burnham will walk away from the best job of his life if he becomes MP for Makerfield. That kind of sacrifice is not a token gesture. He is local too. He lives close to Makerfield. His kids attended 'Edmund Arrowsmith school' in Makerfield.
'What if he runs for prime minister?' I hear you say. Look at it more closely. If he becomes PM he will still be MP for Makerfield. Makerfield is a constituency fit for a prime minister. All his experience will pour into Makerfield. A few days ago he announced a grant of one million pounds to save Ashton Library.
If there was ever an opportunity for a constituency to elevate itself this is it: a one in a million chance. Hindley, Ashton, Platt Bridge, Bickershaw, Bryn, Abram, Winstanley Stubshaw Cross, Orrel... everyone in Makerfield, this is your moment.
Andy is walking the streets of Makerfield. Talk to him. He has clarity of vision and willingness to listen. He has the drive experience and commitment to cut through red tape and Make Makerfield Great Again.
The article attached is in the Sunday Times today. It is behind a paywall. I am proud because it recalls Mr and Mrs Jolly of Jolly's shop on Osborne Road in Ashton - sadly no longer there.

If my boys grow up to be like Jo and Kush from Race Across the World we will have done something right. They’re a brilliant antidote to Tate-style toxic masculinity: bright, kind, compassionate, emotionally intelligent, grounded, and culturally aware. PROPER role models for boys.
