submitting poems sometimes feels like a thankless slog, but then other times I realize I need to chop a poem clean in half in the process of submitting it and I feel like I just went for a swim, got a haircut, and drank a shot of whiskey all at the same time

@karissachen A cool thing that's started to happen now that my kid is close to 3 is being able to share all of my me things with her (sports, fav books, music, and images, things I notice about the world, etc) which allows me to reclaim some of that 'something else' identity.
