I just had an excellent meeting with @magyarpeterMP in Budapest on my #TourdesCapitales. 🇭🇺

Meeting the European leaders in their home countries is fundamental to hear their expectations and prepare our work ahead. European unity cannot be taken for granted - we build it day by day, every day.

Today we focused our discussions on the EU’s long-term budget and on enlargement.

On both issues, Hungary’s positions and priorities are clear and I know I can count on Péter Magyar’s constructive spirit to find solutions.

(1/3) Hungary has completed all 127 milestones and super-milestones linked to the disbursement of approximately €10 billion in EU recovery funds—fulfilling every commitment by the deadline. 🇭🇺🇪🇺

(2/3) This required amendments to over 100 pieces of legislation, major institutional and IT reforms, and new transparency and anti-corruption safeguards. On the government side alone, nearly 3,000 people contributed to this achievement.

(3/3) Our priorities include the north–south gas corridor, Via Carpathia and EU enlargement. Hungary has joined the Friends of the Western Balkans and deployed experts across the region. In Bled, bilateral talks also focused on strengthening European security and cooperation.
