Motherhood goes beyond biology. It is found in every act of love, protection and unwavering care.
In this moving blog, our colleague Sumeena reflects on the many forms motherhood can take- from birth mothers to caregivers, mentors, social workers, teachers and others who step in to nurture, support and help children thrive.
As Sumeena writes, "The most powerful form of motherhood is simply choosing, every single day, to care deeply for lives that are not obligated to love you back... and still loving them wholeheartedly anyway." Read the full blog: https://t.co/PhVgGNDtB2

Some of the biggest transformations happen quietly.
Today, Raju (name changed) is studying in Class 12, helping support his family, and planning for the future he wants to build. A few years ago, financial hardship had separated him from home. What brought him back was not a single intervention, but sustained support that helped his family regain stability and move forward together.
His journey is a powerful reminder that when families are supported, they can overcome challenges and create the conditions for children to thrive.

For many children, understanding emotions, safety, or even their own voice doesn’t always come easily. And for many parents, knowing how to respond can feel just as uncertain.
In villages across Gujarat, spaces were created for both children to learn and express, and parents to reflect and adapt. Reaching 284 children and 279 parents, these engagements are helping strengthen families from within.
Because change often begins with conversations like these.

Separation from family isn’t just a moment; it shapes a child’s sense of safety and belonging.
At 17, Samaira (name changed) sought help when her home became unsafe for her and her younger brother. What followed was uncertainty and time in institutional care, as well as counselling, support, and a chance to rebuild.
Today, she is back with her extended family, pursuing a diploma in garment technology.
Her journey is a reminder that every child’s separation from their family happens under different circumstances. Sometimes, the focus must be on preventing it by strengthening families and when that isn’t possible, on walking with children through care, healing, and a safe return to family.
