Even if a deal removes mines and fast boats and the Strait of Hormuz is declared “open,” the real bottleneck is not political declarations. Negotiations remain off the rails in a fragmented, indirect format (via Qatar, Pakistan, and Oman) that heavily favors Iran. Core issues are stalled: the US demands verifiable nuclear rollback, missile restraints, and removal of maritime threats (mines + IRGCN fast boats), while Iran insists on full sanctions relief and lifting of the US naval blockade. Limited prisoner swaps provide tactical humanitarian theater but have not moved the strategic needle. This protracted, multi-channel approach plays directly into Iranian strategy — buying time to further degrade the stranded fleet, entrench asymmetric capabilities, and raise the eventual cost of any resolution for the US and global markets. A single burning or disabled VLCC can block a traffic separation scheme for days. Therefore, a standing quick-reaction force — tugs, firefighting boats, rescue/recovery vessels, damage-control teams, and naval escort — must be on immediate call to tow disabled ships clear, fight fires on tankers, rescue crews, and restore lane flow within hours, not days. This is not optional surge capacity; it is permanent operational insurance to prevent one incident from re-paralyzing the entire corridor. That campaign moved roughly 500,000 troops and millions of tons of equipment over six months using hundreds of ships and thousands of aircraft sorties, while also confronting the massive post-conflict challenge of hundreds of burning Kuwaiti oil wells that required international firefighting teams, specialized equipment, and sustained coordination to extinguish. Unwinding 1,500–3,200+ commercial vessels involves comparable or greater numbers of hulls, sustained multi-month processing, commercial legal/insurance frameworks, crew welfare on a massive scale, delicate sequencing in congested waters, and the movement of men, materials, ships, and airlift assets on an industrial scale — plus the permanent stand-by of tugs, firefighting, rescue, and naval escort forces to keep lanes open after any incident. This is the hard, unsexy work that will determine whether global energy and supply chains recover quickly — or remain crippled for months.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said he has a secret “break the glass” plan to prevent California from electing a Republican governor. He recently signed a law that states mail in ballots signatures do not have to match.
SB73 Section 3. Clause F reads : (f) A vote by mail voter observer shall not be permitted to challenge a signature on a vote by mail ballot return envelope pursuant to subdivision (a) of Section 3019, or on statements completed pursuant to subdivisions (d) and (e) of Section 3019, on the basis that they believe the signature does not compare with the signatures appearing in the voter’s registration record.

There’s no election integrity in California.
