@alexcthedp @_TyRogers_ I’m hoping that other brands recognize the competition and adapt, RED has the Komodo now, so maybe ARRI will make an “affordable” camera in the 5K-10K price range. It’s a pipe dream but maybe someday

@alexcthedp @_TyRogers_ Very true. Digital cameras have come a long way so whether or not it’s mirrorless, I think they’ll keep pushing the envelope. Blackmagic has done a fantastic job of putting high end specs in the hands of more people with their affordability.

@_TyRogers_ Agreed! IMO if you’re getting a good amount of work where the client/production is paying the rental fee for a high end cinema camera, then absolutely look into purchasing. Also, people should charge a rental fee for their own equipment, make the gear work for you!

@_TyRogers_ I don’t think it’s a good investment unless you’re on enough jobs to pay the camera package off in a year. If you’re able to bill an extra 20K+ on top of your day rate for a Red/Alexa, then go for it. If you’re on a few jobs where the client requires those, then rent.
