Heartfelt gratitude and pride for the Pediatric teams who are providing extraordinary care to acutely ill children. The Rotary Flames House team has provided outstanding care during this pediatric respiratory surge. We are happy they can return ‘home’. 💕#Pediatrics
All regular services will resume at Rotary Flames House from January 16, after respite care admissions were temporarily paused in early December to allow staff to support Alberta Children’s Hospital. 1/2

Farewell 2022 - 100th Anniversary of #albertachildrenshospital. Grateful for dedicated healthcare professionals caring for children & youth in the past century, especially now over the holidays and particularly in this past year. Peace, joy, hope in 2023!
It takes a team to care for critically sick kids. Although shot earlier in the pandemic - these amazing care givers are still at the frontline of pandemic that has now added two more viruses to the mix. Amazing care at Alberta Children’s Hospital!
We know this decision on respite care is difficult for our current clients and families. We are will resume normal services as quickly as possible. 3/3
I would like to correct the misinformation about the decision to temporarily pause respite services at Rotary Flames House (RFH).This was a difficult decision, made during extraordinary times, to support care to the sickest of children at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH) 1/3
ACH has always provided palliative, end of life care to patients and families, in addition to RFH. These expert services along with grief support is still being provided. 2/3
We will do our best to resume this important service as soon as possible and thank Albertans for their support and understanding during these extraordinary times where we are seeing respiratory viruses surging in the community. 4/4
We understand this temporary pause in respite services may be concerning and difficult for our clients and families. We will be working with all families currently using respite services over the coming days on discharge plans. 3/4
Palliative and end of life care have always been provided at ACH & RFH. At this time, expert care for palliative and end of life support will be provided @AlbertaChildrensHospital.
All other services provided at the Rotary Flames House such as palliative and end of life care will continue and will be temporarily relocated to the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Grief support will also continue. 2/4
To ensure the right care is available to patients requiring inpatient care at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause respite admissions at Rotary Flames House: https://t.co/trx8GzVtpF 1/4
