The virtues of a leader who is an ideal team player: Hunger, Humility, People Person (H2P2). Paraphrased from the retirement speech of Colonel Torres. Virtues that perfectly describe how Miguel served.
It was an honor to celebrate the over 38yr service of Colonel(r) Miguel Torres and family. Miguel has an amazing story and has cared for his fellow service members throughout his career. Congratulations on a job well done and we wish him all the best in his next chapter!
Congratulations to my great friend and colleague @dawnmferrell who was inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame tonight alongside five other inspiring women. I’m honored to have served alongside this fantastic leader. #DutyHonorTexas

#NationalSpousesDay shoutout to my beautiful partner, best friend and premiere @USArmy spouse pictured here on the flight line helping welcome our @TXMilitary Soldiers home from a mission.
Congratulations to Maj. Gen. Thomas Suelzer on his promotion today and assumption of the role of Deputy Adjutant General - Air. We look forward to his guidance and leadership. Hooah!
Flu shot ✅ #COVID19 shot #1 ✅ COVID #2 in a few weeks. The COVID vaccine is available and voluntary for @TXMilitary members who have been on the front lines of testing and community support since March. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as available to you.
This will be a great event, I’m humbled and excited to be a part of it! @TexasGuard and @THSCAcoaches share the goal of securing our future by instilling discipline, teamwork and leadership to those who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. #TexansServingTexas
As Soliders we are conditioned to be physically fit. However, that doesn't stop with our physical bodies. Train your brain and cultivate an optimistic mindset with these tips from @ArmyResilience:

Thank you for the workers who keep the @TXMilitary readiness centers and facilities maintained for our service members, especially the crew out working tonight to repair a water line on Camp Mabry. Unsung but a critical part of the team. #TexansServingTexas
Spiritual intelligence is important to resilience and positive culture. I recommend “Stillness is the Key” by Ryan Holiday for your @ArmyResilience reading. #SpiritualLiteracyMonth
@WillReinier Great point and I’m encouraged it was reinforced by senior leaders during the forum. Cultural change requires Os, WOs, and NCOs to take responsibility for and to our Soldiers. Commanders have to be held accountable but make no mistake, the heavy lift is on the NCO.
Policy won’t fix a culture, culture must be fixed by leaders, the future of our culture depends on professionalism of the non-commissioned officer. Be the NCO who stands up and says we own this, we are going to fix it. [paraphrased] @16thSMA#ArmyProfessionForum#PeopleFirst
