Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
We celebrate the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act. It will protect the rights of millions of American families, bringing the law of the land into line with Americans' respect for the value, dignity, and integrity of same-sex and interracial marriages.
By mandating the federal recognition of same-sex marriages, the Respect for Marriage Act brings us closer to preserving the fundamental right of every American to marry who they love.
I began my career fighting for LGBTQ communities — and now, one of the final bills that I will sign as Speaker will ensure the federal government never again stands in the way of marrying the person you love.

@adamparish@adamparish, in 1989, my role in the show for the opening of the Disney-MGM Studios was to make ready and delivery plants for the grounds and horticultural story line. I too have great memories and a happy place in my heart for that park!
