The best part of the HHMI Gilliam Award, is that my advisor @dbensasson and I get funding for #DiversityandInclusion activities. With the help of @justine_valadez we created a Diversify #STEM Coffee Hour to create a safe place for grad students from historically excluded groups.

Here some tips we learned:
- Get good at doing research because networking will not help you get a job in academia, government, or in industry.
- Take time to read the literature daily
- Postdocs are important & demonstrates that you can succeed in different environments
