Hiya Toys revealed new prototypes at the Shanghai Miniature Art Hobby Show!🔥🔥🔥
But the Godzilla 1995 (Burning Godzilla) prototype gets more disappointing with every update. The first reveal at SDCC 2025 looked amazing.
But through the promo shots and now this show, the neck keeps getting longer, while the body and legs look thinner.
The 1994-1995 body is the bulkiest among all Godzilla designs. I even compare Godzilla 1991 to Chris Hemsworth, and 1994-1995 to Don Lee😂😂😂
Are they sacrificing proportions for articulation?
Hiya Toys is known for final products that are better than the promo pictures, so I know this is not the final look. They usually do better. But it worries me that it seems to get worse over time.
But just like 2002's last prototype, it will be ok soon.
As a big fan of Hiya, I hope the official release comes out soon!
@Bluetheshark2@MFS314 I guess Hiya is testing something. All their final products were so different and better than the prototypes. If we share our suggestions and ideas, it could be a great help to them, just like always!
Before-after of my repaint for the Ichiban Kuji Prize A Godzilla 1995🔥🔥🔥
The 'Kuji' line doesn't get much attention in the West, but the quality is getting better lately. They are cheap, and the sculpts are great because they just copy the X-Plus 30cm line molds. I think they are a good alternative to the X-Plus Daikaiju line now.
But the cheap paint jobs are always disappointing. This 1995 figure was an early Kuji release, so it was especially disappointing.
However, it is special to me because it was my first Godzilla figure, received as a gift. I decided to repaint it after seeing the 30cm paint work by @nanakoubouxhiro.
Since it is not a highly detailed statue, I used a simple painting style rather than rough or flashy patterns. I regret not having a good 'before' picture.
I did some dry brushing, applied a matte varnish, and completely repainted the burning parts from scratch. I also touched up the eyes.
Now it's a burning godzilla
All the work was done with just $2 paint (13 colors) and a brush.
@bigboiphobos Does Ichibansho not handle a wide variety of lineups? Kuji figures are really great, but if Ichibansho is more expensive than buying from Japan due to shipping costs, they definitely lose their appeal as an X-Plus alternative. In Asia, the price is a huge advantage.
@ArmorKingTV21 I used $2 acrylic paint and applied it directly without any base coat. The adhesion is strong, but the coverage is weak. So I repeated the painting and drying process multiple times to control the transparency. After finishing the paint job, I coated it with a gloss varnish
I’ve been testing out some background and lighting setups.
I like the method that cuts down on the highlights the most.
It’s definitely gives off the most realistic, in-hand look!
Hiya toys 1991, 1999
SHMA 200
2025 was the year of MireGoji🔥🔥🔥
Godzilla 1999, aka MireGoji, is special to me. It's my favorite design and my very first Toho movie. But the action figure market ignored this design for a long time. Even with its unique design, both SHMA and Neca skipped it.
Then in 2025, finally, SHMA and Hiya Toys announced their figures. Also, MireGoji returned in the Fest Godzilla film, Shinjuku Burning, and even got a Burning form!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It was a massive gift for all those waiting years!
When Hiya Toys revealed their heat ray version, I immediately planned to repaint it into a Burning form. I wanted to make strong highlight patterns like the SHMA 70th 1995.
The result is satisfying. The highlights look a bit weak in the photos because I turned down the lights on purpose, but it's fine(I will drop some pics under the lights in the replies).
I usually fiddle with my figures sometimes, but since I finished this custom, I barely touch the others.
In the upcoming Fest short film, Burning MireGoji will return to fight Monster X. I want to see that in person, so I'm planning a trip to Japan. Along with the release of Minus Zero, November 3rd, 2026 is going to be an incredible day🎂🎂🎂
Godzilla vs Biollante (1989) Behind-the-scenes clip🌹🌹🌹
These kind of tokusatsu movie clips are always a blast to watch. Unlike CGI where everything is just buried in blue and green screens, I love that weird gap of seeing the actual movie suit just being with regular people.
My favorite part of this video is around 1:00, where the crew is laughing and just geeking out over it. Watching them work with so much passion and having that much fun is so cool!!!
You were right Kaijucanuck!!!
It was damaged version!!
Super7 Ultimate series Godzilla 2023 was alwas so cool, but this looks above it🧊🧊🧊
