@SamaHoole Breast milk has no starch, but is almost as high in carbs as fat. It is distinctly sweet to taste. Infants are metabolically primed to produce/use ketones even when consuming a fairly carb rich diet. BM isn’t ketogenic, babies are metabolically flexible.
@JacekJacek123@SamaHoole NB ketosis isn’t caused by low lactose in BM. It’s NB metabolism. 8-12 feeds daily, high fat utilization, limited glycogen reserves, insanely rapid growth, and substantial ketone utilization.
In NB high carb exposure & substantial ketone metabolism are not mutually exclusive.
@JacekJacek123@SamaHoole Infants convert to ketosis several hours postpartum, which increases during the period before lactogenesis II. With low carb or ketogenic diet the mammary gland maintains glucose synthesis and levels. NBs can consume a lactose rich food and still have active ketone metabolism.
@mahanaim3124@russio_w@elonmusk LOL. You are absolutely right, a stranger on the internet misunderstanding you is not important. I wish you all the best.
@skycop27@alliance64004@Rainmaker1973 Africa? Cape buffalo, they are known to injure and even kill lions. And balloon “safaris” are popular. The world had some wonderful moments long before AI.
@Spare130198@cliftonaduncan The garden is magic. Not just the physical activity, but being outside and touching the earth. Being in the sunlight. It’s all good. I hope that your time of struggles is eased by garden time. It always helps me.
@mahanaim3124@russio_w@elonmusk Planning, shopping, prepping, cooking healthy food, & cleaning up does require time & energy. I work. Anything that frees me to meet other obligations, more time with those I love, & to occasionally read a book is a tool I am grateful to have. Narcissistic? Odd assumption.
@russio_w@elonmusk My weekly shopping/cooking isn’t a source of excitement, but I do love good food. Anything that increases efficiency frees me up to focus my energy on goals, projects, and fun.
@Grindz_TV I agree. It’s sad that, in general, television promotes mostly drama and chaos now. For decades, writers were skilled enough to portray functional families with flawed but decent humans and make it entertaining.
@sock_puppet1787@cremieuxrecueil I agree with what you’re saying to a degree, however, it is a misconception that in prior eras women only stayed home and cared for their children. Historically, women always participated various forms of work. The 1950’s were an aberration.
@Stry_dah@cremieuxrecueil Birth rates are meaningless on their own. However, population is now roughly triple what it was in 1890. Having an equivalent birth rate is not the same.
@sock_puppet1787@cremieuxrecueil But historically, people worked longer hours, often at far more physically demanding jobs without it making a dent in the birth rate. In developed countries, we have more leisure time available now than ever before in human history.
@42_Sunshines@moodyyakker@LiquidDeath@DeathWishCoffee Making pure stevia is more like making vanilla extract. It’s far less refined which is what causes the natural plant aftertaste. Artificial is not synonymous with substitute. Stevia is not a saccharine equivalent.
@42_Sunshines@moodyyakker@LiquidDeath@DeathWishCoffee Clarifying that stevia is a plant just like sugarcane is not pedantic. Both are plants and both are, in differing degrees, artificial in their processed form. Sugar is made by an industrial process that includes bleaching. Stevia is far less processed.
@tonylenaNl@UltraMeathead@TruthFairy131 No, only public property and city owned flagpoles. Private property is not affected. I agree that no groups should be favored. The current rules allow flags of countries of national origin which should not be permitted on public property.
@CathyMasci805@ThomsOpinion If the thieves have an iPhone, or an Android with the Tracker Detect app, they will get an alert about the AirTag moving with them. I believe they can even make it beep so they can locate it. It’s to prevent AirTags being used to stalk people.
