@dieworkwear The 2 could only be equivalent if one believes everyone should dress similarly.
It seems to reflect a certain narrowness of thinking–that there's one standard of taste, a universal norm all should aspire to. As opposed to a wide variety of tastes, each with their own standards.
@jamiedupree@NFTC_News Pardon the window reflection, but I just noticed the same (and found your post when I Googled out of curiousity).
This was a few mins ago at 12:45pm. I saw someone's reply above that there's funeral procession passing by at 1, so perhaps they're getting in formation.
@mlysimonsen@dieworkwear@WHHotCoffee Not everyone has a mother-in-law like you to help them, unfortunately. Which is where empathy should come into play.
@mlysimonsen@dieworkwear@WHHotCoffee Daughter-in-law = married to a citizen, which greatly streamlines the process (which I'm very happy about for her sake).
Sad that participating in this process on her behalf resulted in decreasing your empathy for other undocumented immigrants.
@Acyn This gives me—and I suspect many Black professionals—flashbacks. MTG, a white woman, insults Rep. Crockett, a Black woman, w/impunity, upheld by official ruling. Then JC is told to calm down, and that she's "yelling" and "out of control" for her reaction to this series of events.
