4 years ago, I stood shaking in my office as I opened the email where Brighton offered me a clearing place on the MH Nursing course. I'm 10 months into my job now... Where did the time go?
Today my ward manager gave me cash so I could go to Aldi and get ice creams for the patients and the team working today in the heat. I'm sure these little acts of kindness happen in so many places, and I am grateful it happened on my ward today. #kindness#nursetwitter#heatwave
@EmergMedDr If these are set up (and somehow staffed in a service already with huge recruitment issues), is there legislation there to back it up? Isn't Sec 136 solely a police power to detain, as it speaks of constables?
Tomorrow at 1500 GMT an automatic test alert will siren from every capable phone in the UK. If you have a hidden phone for your safety you may wish to watch this video from @RefugeCharity on how to prepare for it. β€οΈ

Back to work today after my bout of Covid. So grateful for the team and their respect - no one made me feel guilty for being off, no one made me feel like I had let them down. They were all genuinely pleased I was well again. World's apart from my previous job! #NurseTwitter
Don't forget, in the weeks ahead, to always have your Twitter feed set to 'Following' and not to 'For You'. It means you'll really see the things you've chosen, not the things Twitter has chosen for you.
@Colbourne_Steph I felt like my feed was really off... Then saw a message from @richardosman explaining what was wrong! At least it was someone I do follow pointing it out! π€¦π»
Just responded to the pay offer made to @theRCN - having listened to voices from both sides of the argument, I actually really agonised over how to vote. Scared but determined now though. #NurseTwitter
Worked the late yesterday and an early today... and my phone crashed overnight meaning my alarm didn't go off π€¦π» woke up 5 minutes before my shift started and made it before the end of handover. My ward manager (the other qualified on today with me) thought it was funny. π€¦π»
@punc17RBlack@justcronners@LiamButton29@theRCN Absolutely. I've been the most senior nurse on an acute MH inpatient ward on days with no management on site. I'm only 18 months qualified. There isn't a vacant Band 6 role.
