It has been epic 2.5 months. While I have been drinking from a fire hose learning vascular surgery, there has been an extraordinary protest back home against religious dictatorship lead by Iranian women... (1/3)
While I am so proud of Iranian women being the frontline of protesting against bigotry & hatred, I take all the blames in the OR, learn new things & try to "get the loop out of Dr. Rossi's face!" as our MCW vascular surgery guideline advises. (3/3)

Although I am really excited about learning new techniques, my heart is heavy for the lives taken & those who have been incarcerated. Regardless of the title I carry, everyday I believe in a faith which propagates kindness, inclusion & compassion... (2/3)

While ensuring we operated safely, Dr. Betzold wrote down his comments & let Lauren & I finish our lap appy uninterrupted. Today we learned how to operate efficiently & how to teach surgery effectively!
Welcome to UAB Dr. Betzold

First day Dr. Mustian operating as an attending. I know Margaux for about 6 years & have always looked up to her as a great role model when she was a resident here at UAB & now as an attending. We are so lucky to have you Margaux!
@UABSurgery
A little surprise on my first off day after working 3 weekends. Double rainbow, the last few days of the #PrideMonth
I was born & raised Muslim but today I believe in inclusion, kindness & respect. I have close gay friends who are much better human beings than I am. @UABSurgery
@abhishekpar@MCWVascSurg Thank you very much Dr. Parmar for you kind note. It truly made my day. I am just trying to follow the foot steps of surgical giants @UABSurgery@UABVascular and make you all proud
