M.I.D within the Living Water Association of the Heartland Conference of The United Church of Christ. Mediator of God's uncondtional love and presence.
When I was a 3rd year medical student, we just couldn’t scrape together enough $ for our kids, rent, and med school costs. I applied everywhere for a job.
Everyone said I was overqualified. One female manager told me that & I said, “But my kids still need to eat.”
Not all movements for justice will check all of our boxes for “orthodoxy,” but I believe the Holy Spirit is working in many of them. https://t.co/dJdB3bfgmU
The Church has an unconditional obligation to the victims of any ordering of society, even if they do not belong to the Christian community.

@PetersUcc@justice_ucc It’s a false dichotomy to think that we cannot defend the inherent dignity of both survivors and perpetrators at the same time. But it seems we have differences on the Gospels and at an inpasse. So I bid you peace. May the spirit bless your congregation.
@PetersUcc@justice_ucc I see the articles but maybe I skimmed to fast, where does it list the recidivism rate of those who were set free? All I read is people placing bets they are going to re-offend?

@PetersUcc@justice_ucc Define “Many”, already realsed, have already recommitted crimes”” this seems like a generalization. Please provide peer reviewed empirical data that suggests this position.
@JennMJacksonPhD@miheekimkort I am a retail worker helping my community have access to essential goods during this crisis. I am also a part-time minister as I’m finishing up my ordination process. My cash app is $MatthewHogueSmith
I wish @GovMikeDeWine would limit retailers to only selling essential items. Target is packed right now full of people buying non-essential. A number of people saying “I just needed to get out of the house” or “I need to redecorate my house since I’m home”
@emilycheath This is sad to hear! Our conference and association has been sending out multiple pastoral letters on Covid-19 along with the strong recommendations to cancel in person worship for the foreseeable future.
