@kstansberry#ElonCOM460 As a whole the Media Analytics industry is an extremely exciting field to be apart of right now. During this time I think it's important to reflect on how we can use data differently from the hoi polloi + make positive changes to better our world
@kstansberry#ElonCOM460 A solid background knowledge in statistical reasoning + strong writing skills. Understanding math-based formulas is key for data mining and coding. However, any found insights are useless if they cannot be clearly communicated with non-analytics professionals.
@kstansberry#ElonCOM460 I think the differentiation here is whether an organizations takes advantage of their advertising/social media/digital data. So, if a company actually tried to clean + analyze this information (smart), then yes that's fair to say.
@kstansberry#ElonCOM460 I think within the next five years media analytics will become more so engrained into the entertainment industry, expanding beyond its scientific and advertising focus right now; video games in particular, I think, will experience one of the greatest effects.
@kstansberry Aside from privacy, I think the sheer volume of data is equally as much of a detriment as it is an asset to the media analytics industry. Thus it's important to differentiate correlation & causation, along with finding smaller trends within large sets of data. #ElonCOM460
@kstansberry I think what excites me most is the future of big data, and finding new and unexpected uses for this information. Much like Seth Stephens-Davidowitz details in "Everbody Lies," there are so many unique ways to utilize large data sets outside of media/advertising/etc. #ElonCOM460
