Nothing works until you have clarity.

Without clarity on what to do, how to do it, where to go next...

You are stuck.

You can't act.

Zero momentum.

And if you force it, you find yourself in a worse place.

I have found myself in this situation many times.

So, what do I do when I find myself lacking clarity?

(1) I start by saying a little prayer to get clarity.

(2) Detach from cheap dopamine sources for a while - social media especially.

(3) Next, I bring out my pad and pen and I start by writing down all the concerns I have, where I am at the moment, and the exact outcomes I want.

This part usually takes a while and it usually works or at least solves majority of the problem.

That is because writing things down actually helps you declutter a lot of the images and thoughts roaming around in your mind.

When you write things down like this, you can filter out the things that are important etc

(4) The next thing I do IF step 2 is not enough is to go for a walk with only my phone to jot down things. But this is not the type of walk where you have music blasting or where you are listening to audios.

You won't be listening to anything. You just walk and think. Let your brain roam free. That is all.

Don't do this before step 2 though.

(5) If all of the above still don't work, then it is time for you to get some help from someone else. This can be someone superior to you or a trusted friend or colleague.

The reason is because sometimes, there are things we just won't see or ideas we just won't get on our own.

Probably because you are close to it or you are too far from it.

It happens.

For example, my friend Ronald was telling me about a meeting he had with a business man doing Billions of Naira a year. He had a particular problem where work piled up for them on Monday because none of his staff worked on Sunday.

Then Ronald told him to simply activate Muslim staffs for Sundays and give them Fridays off.

As simple as that solution is, you would think someone doing Billions of Naira would know it. But it was too close to him.

I also did a clarity session for an info marketer a few months ago and helped him identify the ONE thing that was blocking him from scaling up his campaign.

Anyway...

There’s a difference between unfortunate and poor.

I was traveling by road through a village in Kogi State, Nigeria. The level of lack shocked me.

I saw kids and wondered if they’d ever make it out.

It made me sad.

But then…

There’s another group of young people.

Expensive iPhones. Daily data. Online every day just to banter and argue.

They keep 1000+ day streaks with friends but claim they’re broke, waiting for someone to bring them a “miraculous update.”

One group is unfortunate.

The other is just POOR — and often proud or arrogant about it.

An unfortunate person is unlucky to be in an environment that doesn’t support growth.

A poor person CHOOSES to stay poor despite having every resource they need to win.

If you have a phone and can browse the internet, you are BLESSED. You have the opportunity to do big things.

The small places are no longer small. The internet has given us access and AI has given us SPEED.

The only thing stopping you now is your ability to try as many things as possible fast.

Don’t let anyone lie to you,
You will never know the exact business that will make you rich.

But you can try.
