Accurate voter rolls require accurate information.
Principle 4 supports data-sharing between election offices and government agencies to keep voter records current and reliable.
Since voter privacy is also important, Principle 4 includes safeguards that limit access to sensitive DMV information while allowing election officials to verify eligibility.

⚖️What did the federal court actually decide on President Trump's election integrity executive order?
📰Not what many headlines would have you believe.
A federal judge recently declined to block Executive Order 14399, which seeks to strengthen citizenship verification and improve the tracking and handling of absentee ballots. However, the court did not rule on whether the order is constitutional or whether the federal government ultimately has the authority to implement all of its provisions.
Instead, the judge found that the plaintiffs had not yet demonstrated the immediate harm necessary to justify a preliminary injunction. The case itself continues.
The larger debate remains unresolved: How can election officials best ensure that only eligible citizens vote while protecting lawful access to the ballot box?
Michigan's experience has made this conversation especially relevant. Recent cases involving noncitizens casting ballots have raised questions about the effectiveness of current verification systems and whether additional safeguards are needed as states expand voter access through measures such as same day registration and no excuse absentee voting.
Regardless of where you stand on the executive order, understanding what the court actually decided is essential to having an informed discussion.

What skills or talents do you think citizens can bring to help strengthen their communities and our republic? 🇺🇸
What can one person do to make a difference?
According to Seth Keshel's new book, The American War on Election Corruption, quite a lot.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Shamgar, who defended Israel with nothing more than an oxgoad, Keshel shares his own journey from Army captain and data analyst to one of the most recognizable voices in the election integrity movement. His story is a reminder that ordinary citizens can use their unique skills and talents to serve a cause they believe in.
More than a book about statistics and election data, this is a personal account of conviction, perseverance, and civic engagement. It explores the challenges, controversies, and lessons learned from one man's effort to examine election results, ask difficult questions, and encourage public involvement.
Whether you're interested in election integrity, political history, data analysis, or stories of individuals stepping forward when they believe their country needs them, this book offers a perspective worth considering.

Why vote?
Because whether you pay attention to politics or not, politics affects your life every single day.
From the cost of groceries and gas, to the quality of your children's education, to the freedoms and opportunities available in your community, public policy shapes the world around us. The question isn't whether politics matters, it's who will be making the decisions.
Too often, people say, "My vote doesn't matter," or "Politics is too dirty." But our nation's history tells a different story. The freedoms we enjoy today exist because ordinary citizens chose to get involved, make sacrifices, and take responsibility for the future.
We live in a republic where citizens have both the privilege and responsibility of self-government. If we want better outcomes, stronger communities and accountable leadership, it starts with us.
As the saying goes: You can ignore politics, but politics will never ignore you.
Your vote is your voice. Use it in every election, not just the presidential ones.

📢 ELECTION INTEGRITY UPDATE: HB 5845 ADVANCES OUT OF COMMITTEE
Today, Michigan House Bill 5845 passed out of the House Election Integrity Committee on a vote of 5-2-1 and now moves to the full House for consideration.
So what does this bill actually do and why does it matter?
HB 5845 would require electronic poll book (EPB) flash drives to be retained for at least 22 months after an election. Michigan law already requires ballots, poll books, absentee voter records, applications and many other election materials to be preserved for that period. However, the law does not currently explicitly require the retention of electronic poll book flash drives. This bill closes that gap.
An electronic poll book is the computer system election workers use at polling locations to: ✅ Check in voters ✅ Verify voter registration status ✅ Record who has voted ✅ Track absentee ballot activity ✅ Generate election-day reports
The flash drives associated with these systems can contain important election information, including voter check-in data, election-day activity logs and records that may be useful during audits, investigations, recounts or election reviews.
Why is this issue being discussed now?
In December 2020, the Michigan Bureau of Elections, which operates under Secretary Jocelyn Benson, issued guidance directing that electronic poll book software and associated files be deleted from devices by the seventh day after final canvass and certification unless otherwise required. Since then, election integrity advocates have argued that these electronic records should be preserved for the same 22-month period required for many other election records.
Some have asked, "Don't we already have printed records?"
Yes. At the end of Election Day, election workers typically print reports showing: • Voter check-in lists • Total voter counts • Absentee ballot statistics • Reconciliation reports • Other required election documentation
However, electronic records may contain information that does not appear on printed reports, including: • Detailed transaction logs • Time stamps for voter check-ins • User activity logs • Records of corrections or updates made during Election Day • Error messages and system events • Audit trail information showing who performed specific actions • Other metadata not included in printed reports
Retaining both paper and electronic records provides a more complete audit trail, allows records to be cross-checked if questions arise and ensures important election data remains available for review.
Transparency, accountability and preserving election records are essential to maintaining public confidence in our elections.
🚨 IMPORTANT HEARING ON DONOR VERIFICATION & ELECTION INTEGRITY
On Wednesday, June 10 at 10am, ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones is scheduled to testify before the House Administration Committee regarding concerns surrounding donor verification, fraud prevention and accountability in online political fundraising.
The Committee's investigation has examined questions about safeguards against fraudulent and foreign donations, internal compliance practices and the accuracy of information provided to congressional investigators.
Americans deserve confidence that political donations are legal, transparent and properly verified. No matter your political affiliation, accountability and trust in our election systems should be nonpartisan priorities.

California Is Blocking a Federal Audit of Its Voter Rolls
California allows first-time voters to register using forms of ID that most Americans would find surprising, including:
-Gym membership card
-Employer ID card
-Credit or debit card
-Prescription drug label
-Insurance card (California provides free health coverage to undocumented immigrants)
Full list: https://t.co/BvfviJsYG8
This is permitted when a voter fails to provide a Social Security number or driver’s license at registration. Our office believes this policy deserves a closer look.
We also have serious concerns about how California maintains its voter rolls. There are open questions about whether the state is promptly removing deceased voters, people who have moved, and individuals convicted of disqualifying felonies.
On top of that, California allows third parties to collect and turn in ballots on voters’ behalf (a practice known as ballot harvesting) with few restrictions. This makes it difficult to track who actually received, completed, and submitted each ballot.
For over a year, the Department of Justice has been trying to audit California’s voter rolls. Federal law gives the Attorney General the authority to review state voter files and confirm that only eligible U.S. citizens are voting in federal elections.
@AAGDhillon sent California a letter explaining our legal authority. California refused to comply, claiming state privacy laws block the review, an argument that does not hold up because those laws don’t apply to the federal government in this context. We’ve sued California in federal court, and the case is before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
If California genuinely wants voters to trust its elections, it should open its records, not fight to keep them closed.
What are they afraid of?
