It’s scary to see that in the ICU, almost every second patient is showing resistance to almost every antibiotic.
Antibiotic resistance is a silent crisis, but hardly anyone is talking about it.
And it’s not only quacks who are responsible even Qualified doctors too, especially those working in PHCs and CHCs, also responsible.

@MILRINONE26 It really is a silent crisis. The Lancet's global analysis estimated that bacterial resistance directly caused about 1.27 million deaths in 2019. Stewardship, cultures before antibiotics, and stopping early when possible all matter.
You’re not joining an institute to collect a degree.
You’re joining to become a doctor with skills.
So ask about things that actually matter:
• How much hands-on exposure do you get?
• How independently do residents manage cases?
For whichever hospital is on your preference list, talk to the residents there.
Don’t forget to check the passing rate as well.
Reasons to NOT Take Anaesthesia-
1. You have to study two worlds: OT + ICU.
2. You get great flexibility: Work in OT as an anaesthesiologist or choose ICU as an intensivist.
3. You might get bored: Induce → manage → PACU, without the usual OPD/ward rounds.
4. You develop trust issues: Watching someone do a difficult intubation or CPR when you know you could do it better! 😅
5. You may develop acidity: Tea before the case, after the case, and between cases! ☕😂

@Subatheesh_12 you’re interested in surgical branches, you probably shouldn’t choose it.
But if you’re not interested in surgical branches, you’ll never regret choosing it—you’ll actually enjoy it.
If you don’t have a specific favourite branch and are confused between these:
Radiology vs Medicine → Radiology always.
Surgery vs Ortho → Surgery (do ss)
ENT vs Ophthalmology → ENT
ENT vs Anaesthesia vs Ophthalmology → Anaesthesia

Pathology is good only if you already have doctors in your family or a diagnostic centre.
If you are a first-generation doctor and choose Pathology, consider doing SS in onco-pathology
