On the morning of July 29, 2025,
immediately after the ceasefire took effect, the Thai armed forces illegally arrested Cambodian military personnel. As of September 7, 2025, they have been detained unlawfully for 40days.

Interim Observer Team Deployed to Monitor Border Situation
ODDAR MEANCHEY — Ministry of National Defense said it has facilitated the deployment of an interim observer team on August 14, consisting of seven representatives from Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Laos. These representatives are both residents and non-residents in Cambodia. The mission is led by the Malaysian military attaché to Cambodia.
According to Defense Ministry spokeswoman Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, the team's purpose is to assess the security situation in areas affected by the recent Cambodian–Thai conflict.
Their itinerary includes visits to Battambang province, various locations in Banteay Meanchey province, such as Poipet border checkpoint and Ou Beichoan, as well as the An Ses border checkpoint in Preah Vihear province.
