[The Art of Living @ArtofLiving]

In one of the biggest disaster of the year 2025, flood-hit Seraj region of Himachal Pradesh, The Art of Living and IAHV reached thousands of people providing solace and support during this disaster.

The Art of Living volunteers carried the relief & rehabilitation drive for disaster-hit families in various regions of Mandi & Kullu.

Since July last year, ₹ 20 lakh worth of relief material has reached 275 families across both districts.

The Art of Living reached thousands of people in more than 30 villages of Thunag and Chachyot tehsil in the Mandi district that were inaccessible due to multiple cloud bursts and landslides. People were relieved of the trauma through Pranayam and Meditation.
Essential materials for rehabilitation were provided to 25 families in these tehsils.

The support included storage beds, mattresses, pillows cupboards, tables, chairs, and other household necessities, helping families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

The distribution was conducted in the presence of SDM Sanjeet Sharma, Thunag and DFO Surender Kashyap.

Why is Lord Shiva represented as Lingam?

@Gurudev Sri Sri explains, "Linga means identification, a symbol through which you can identify what the truth is, what the reality is. What is not visible but yet can be identified by one thing; that is linga. When a baby is born, how do you know its gender? Only through one part of the body can you identify whether the baby is a boy or a girl. That’s why the genital is also called linga. How do you identify the Creator? He has no form! So then, they said that there should be a sign to identify Him. So the sign, by which you identify both the male and female forms, combining them both to form one single symbol to identify the Lord who has no form or identity; who is all-pervading in this entire Brahmanda (Creation), is Shiva Linga. Shiva Linga is ancient. From the form, you go to the formless, through the Shiva Linga. It is a symbol that is the representation of the cosmos and the creator of the cosmos, as one. It is the Shiva and the Shakti, the two principles in Creation. The silent unmanifest and the dynamic manifestation together are represented as Shiva Linga, which is not just Shiva, but the completion of total Supreme Consciousness.

Shiva is worshipped in the form of a linga, not as a final destination, but as a doorway to the infinite, a path to transcendence.

The linga represents the beginning of the four stages of spiritual realisation. The first stage, sannidhya, is feeling the presence. The second, samipya, is a sense of closeness with the divine. Sarupya is when one begins to embody divinity. Finally, sayujya is the ultimate state, the complete merger and realisation of oneness with the divine."
