While it’s important to support our students and ask for educational reforms that positively impact the future of our youth, it’s also very important that peaceful protests by students are Not hijacked by anti national elements to create chaos & change the nature of the protest.

Seeing so much hate & divide online makes me wonder if bad elements in & outside our country have already started to work overtime to weaponise the anger & frustration felt by our students.

I have always believed in hard work, equality and excellence & that should never be compromised. I also believe in our democracy, law and order & our government, therefore I sincerely hope that both sides enter into meaningful & constructive dialogue & weed out any nefarious elements & agendas out of this protest & conversation , so the future is bright for our youth and for our democracy ! 🇮🇳 Jai Hind !

Today, a photo of a tiger cub came to me. In the image, the cub is holding a disposable plate in its mouth. Seeing the cub pick up the plate didn’t make me sad, but thinking about how alert and conscious we humans are (or rather, should be) towards wild animals and their habitats did make me feel sorrow.
However, the cat family is extremely curious by nature, and they carefully observe and investigate every new thing they encounter for the first time. I believe this plate is likely garbage from resorts located near the forest, or from rural weddings where people left the trash out in the open and forgot to dispose of it properly.
Whatever the case may be, the bigger question is, is this a sensible or responsible act on our part? #bigcatprotection #wildlifeawareness

Target is to plant 26 lakh+ fruit saplings in a week with the help of students, institutions, public, NGOs and other agencies.

Fruit trees plantation has many benefits; specially increased nutritional value and enhanced public interest in protecting the trees.

This will help in improving Trees outside Forest cover also, which is much required in the state.

#Diversity is the insurance for the future.

Seeds of different species often fall beneath trees where hornbills nest. This is how these magnificent birds help regenerate forests; and why they are rightly called the “farmers of the forest.” Today is #BiodiversityDay.

But how do they do it?

India is home to 9 species of hornbills. During the nesting season, the female seals herself inside the nest cavity to incubate and raise the chick. For nearly 3–4 months, the male takes complete responsibility for feeding the family.

During this period, the male continuously collects fruits and figs from across the forest and brings them to the nest. Hornbills swallow fruits whole, with the seeds remaining intact.

The transfer, however, is not always smooth. Many seeds fall during flight, feeding, or transportation. As a result, seeds get dispersed far and wide across the forest, helping new plants and trees grow in different areas.

Protecting biodiversity therefore also means protecting these incredible species that silently work every day to keep forests alive.
