What really pays off in employment policies are 1.Retain jobs 2. Mind rhe quality of jobs. 3. New forms of work should not circumvent labour laws, tax/social security, representation. 4. Social dialogue is essential. @eurofo

Spoiler Alert! Very long post alert‼️
As a long-standing enthusiast of Christopher Nolan's cinematic creativity (barring the Batman frenzy), I want to share my reflections on his latest masterpiece, #Oppenheimer.
Growing up in the Soviet bloc and being an International Relations pundit, the nuclear narrative has significantly influenced my life trajectory. It ranged from receiving iodine pills at school to undergoing routine nuclear attack drills, culminating in my master thesis on the nuclear standoff between India and Pakistan. Paradoxically, the successful conduction of the Trinity Test on my birthday, July 16, casts a chilling shadow.
In my perspective, Oppenheimer is Nolan's magnum opus. With preconceived admiration for both Nolan and Cillian Murphy, the film not only met but astonishingly exceeded my expectations. Murphy, one of my European acting favourites alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, delivers a gripping performance. His character progression is beautifully articulated, not solely through his individual role, but the dynamic interplay with other intricate characters - a distinctive trait I ardently admire about Nolan's films.
This narrative technique echoes a wisdom imparted by an Indian acquaintance (you know who you are!) who once told me - a brilliant surgeon's success hinges on the collective competence of his team. The film ultimately reveals that monumental scientific advances rely not just on the intellectual brilliance of individuals but the collective dedication of countless others who work selflessly behind the scenes.
As for the nuclear dilemma, my stance leans towards the realpolitik school of thought. I am convinced that nuclear weapons have, somewhat paradoxically, averted numerous military conflicts and will continue to do so. Ukraine's vulnerability to Russia's military onslaught following its nuclear disarmament under ostensible security assurances in 1994 serves as a prime example. Looking forward, I believe Ukraine's only credible guarantees are NATO membership, nuclear arsenal possession, or both. Moreover, it's plausible to foresee more countries, like Iran and Saudi Arabia (considering Israel's nuclear capabilities), joining the nuclear club.
In terms of acting prowess, Murphy's portrayal of Oppenheimer is, without doubt, Oscar-worthy. His performance is utterly engaging and authentic, captivating the audience (certainly me) for the entire three-hour duration. The rest of the cast equally deserve accolades. Josh Hartnett's comeback is a delightful surprise, and Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon have arguably shown their best performances.
Drawing from my professional experience with politicians and military personnel, I was struck by the remarkable authenticity with which the movie depicted the dichotomy of a morally bankrupt politician and a principled military officer.
The supporting roles of Caleb Affleck and the female cast, vital to the completion of the film, deserve special recognition. The film's appeal to younger audiences is also noteworthy. My soon-to-be seventeen-year-old son is eager to watch it. I foresee Nolan's Oppenheimer inspiring a new generation of budding scientists to delve into the realm of physics, especially quantum physics - which I believe to be the film's greatest triumph. Mark my words!
And Prigozhin has now disbanded his fake news holding, leaving hundreds of fake news manufacturers, and likely thousands of trolls unemployed and unemployable. Expect waves of leaks from young people who suddenly found their conscience on the way out.
@Billbrowder Interesting to know your opinion about Velina Tchakarova’s thread that this is not a coup by Prigozhin but internal Putin - MoD power game.
Very grateful to all our partners for their participation and support. Kudos, Elsa!
