@LetItEat21 Problem is that parents equate cost to quality.
Then those teams that "concentrate on development over winning" are searching for an elite pitcher or MI for a weekend tourney?
@CoachSwit In Michigan there is a 105 pitch limit. Then a 3 day rest for anything between 76-105.
In my 25 years of coaching HS baseball, I've yet to have a pitcher throw 100 pitches.
During the first 2/3 weeks, they will hit 50 or so....especially in the colder weather.
@Castellani2014 Colt "cant hit lefties", but sample size is small.
Tork cant hit either with many more opportunities.
How is it that THIS is the best the team has to offer?
@CoachSwit A lot of kids want to be on Varsity, but dont want to play on varsity.
They talk about their summer team, and say they play better competition in travel.
But cant hit the "slow pitching" in HS because its sooo bad.
Nothing about not wanting to put in the work during the spring.
@anymanfitness Most kids that play travel arent mentally equipped to play HS ball.
Most kids play every inning, every game.
Then when they have to compete for a starting spot at HS, they wither.
Parents pay huge $ for travel and expect to play all the time w/o question.
@detroitnews Help keep them going to private schools..
Fixed it for you.
Only thing this does is let private schools buy players publicaly, instead of shady backpack deals they are used to.
@CoachSwit I would be surprised. But then see hs kids quit baseball when they have to sit a few innings.
"Elite" travel teams keep 10 kids. Everyone plays every inning. Then when they are asked to play team baseball, they give you a blank stare.
Parents equate cost to quality.
@BasebaIlKing But PEDs do turn a 320ft fly out, into a 380ft home run.
Also when you are wearing more armor than an abrams tank, you arent afraid of that inside fastball on your elbow.
Maybe roids are why Balco Bonds couldnt throw out Sid Bream from deep short?
