Western NC received some impressive snowfall amounts with the heaviest being near Swiss in Yancey County at 23.5" of snow! Overnight we will have clear to partly cloudy skies with lows in the middle 20s in the Upstate and near 20 in the mountains.

Here's my WBTV First Alert forecast for the Charlotte area. We may have an isolated brief flurry overnight, otherwise mostly cloudy and cold with a low in the middle 20s. Over the next several days, our temperatures will warm up to near 60 by Friday.

Clouds will linger across the Midlands into Monday, but sunshine returns later in the day and will stick around through the upcoming week. Here's tonight's web weather forecast.

Overnight and into Monday, clouds will linger over the Midlands with below average temperatures. We will dip down to the middle 50s tonight with a high on Monday near 70. Abundant sunshine returns on Tuesday and for much of the week ahead.

Friday and Saturday are First Alert Weather Days due to the possibility of heavy rain and wind. There is a lot of uncertainty on where Ian will go once it makes landfall, so keep checking with the First Alert Weather Team throughout the week for forecast updates.

Overnight, we may see a stray shower for a few areas with lows in the lower 60s. The new week starts off nice, but Friday and Saturday will be First Alert Weather Days as many areas could see several inches of rain and windy conditions from Ian.

Our weather remains pleasant, but we are watching Tropical Storm Ian closely. It is expected to become a hurricane by Monday. Ian is forecast to strengthen into a Cat. 4 Storm, before weakening and moving into the Florida coast. Keep up-to-date the WIS First Alert Team.
