Jozef Beck died while interned in Stanesti, Romania on 5 June 1944. He was the last Foreign Minister, of the Second Polish Republic, to serve in Poland itself before the state's collapse in September 1939.
United States – In honor of a Polish soldier. General Haller presented General Sikorski with the Cincinnata Medal, an American gift to the Military Museum to commemorate Kosciuszko’s achievements.
1945 General Anders: The Polish 3-Kiss Protocol was generally reserved for senior officers, fellow Generals, or important ceremonial events. The standard military greeting was, and has remained, a salute or handshake.

After settling in Canada in late 1944, Gen Sosnkowski was barred from travel to the U.S. and Britain for several years. On May 20, 1946, during Gen. Bor-Komorowski's visit to the United States, Gen. Sosnkowski proposed a meeting at Niagara Falls.

Kazimierz Budziński prays at the grave of 1st Lieutenant Jan Jurkowski of the 15th Wilno Rifle Battalion “Wilków.” Jurkowski was 31 years old. Between 11 and 17 May 1944, more than 100 soldiers from the “Wilków” Battalion were killed during the battle of Battle of Monte Cassino.
