That’s not leadership. That’s old institutions feeding on young Black futures. That’s not activism. That’s gerontocratic self-preservation.
The @NAACP and the CBC are asking poor Black athletes to sacrifice scholarships, NIL money, and future earnings to protect voting maps for politicians old enough to collect Social Security — but where’s this same institutional urgency for reparations, Black wealth building, or ownership?
Young Black people keep getting asked to bleed economically for “the movement” while gerontocratic institutions deliver press releases, symbolism, and selective activism in return.
