🚨 EUROPE’S PREPARATIONS FOR WAR ARE REACHING AN ALARMING LEVEL

Measures that would have appeared unthinkable only a few years ago are now spreading across Europe:

🇫🇮 FINLAND (AKA Ukraine 2.0)
• Raised the military-reserve age to 65
• Building a reserve approaching one million people
• Removed the legal barrier preventing allied nuclear weapons from entering Finnish territory
• Withdrew from the treaty banning antipersonnel land mines
🇪🇪 ESTONIA
• Declared its willingness to host NATO nuclear weapons if necessary
• Building bunkers, trenches and anti-tank barriers along its Russian border
• Participating in the new Baltic Defense Line

• Withdrew from the treaty prohibiting antipersonnel mines
• Expanding civil-defense and national-resilience preparations

🇪🇺 EUROPEAN UNION
• Advising 450 million residents to maintain at least 72 hours of food, water, medicine, cash and emergency supplies
• Building strategic reserves for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear emergencies
Nuclear weapons have not been confirmed as deployed in Finland, Estonia or Poland—but those countries have opened, or are considering opening, the door.
Europe says this is deterrence and preparedness.

But when countries simultaneously expand conscription, recall older soldiers, prepare bunkers, restore land mines, consider hosting nuclear weapons and teach civilians how to survive war, one question becomes unavoidable:

Cancún didn’t exist until 1970, its location was chosen using early computer models to identify a suitable place for a new resort city. The area had only three residents at the time....

In the late 1960s, Mexico's government wanted tourism to generate more foreign currency and decided to create an international resort virtually from scratch. Planners collected data from successful destinations including Miami Beach and Acapulco, examining tourist numbers, hotel capacity, temperatures, rainfall and hurricane frequency. The information was fed into an early computer program that identified promising locations along Mexico's roughly 6,000 miles of coastline.

Cancún won. When development began in January 1970, only three people lived on Isla Cancún, caretakers of a coconut plantation. Nearby Puerto Juárez had another 117 residents. The government initially had difficulty persuading private investors that anyone would vacation there, so it financed the first nine hotels itself.

The first hotel opened in 1974. Within a year, the new resort was already receiving approximately 100,000 tourists.

Cancún wasn't merely planned as a collection of beachfront hotels. The original master plan called for the government to construct an entire functioning city on the mainland, including neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, markets and roads, plus an international airport, specifically to support the tourism zone.
