Let’s be real: The WNBA will allow Sophie and Caitlin to be assaulted every night until one of them gets seriously hurt in a catastrophic way. Caitlin because of racism + anger that she’s the main attraction and Sophie because she spoke out against men in women’s sports, jealousy, racism and because she dares to have some right wing views. To the woke squad that runs the WNBA this is basically religious heresy or treason. In return they want to punish them, so they will, relentlessly.

Culturally many of us probably find the WNBA as exciting as watching paint dry but we should, nonetheless, be vocal in supporting both of them. No one should be targeted like this. Imagine if it was a black lesbian targeted with physical assaults for her race or sexuality. The media wouldn’t only write endless sympathetic stories, you’d see politicians talking about hate crime charges.

I hope they band together with some sane players before this happens and start their own league. It would instantly compete for ratings and likely beat the WNBA each night in ratings. Offer sane stars who leave the WNBA a deal where they get ownership in the new team they go to. I doubt they’ll do this because it takes a lot of work and org building but they should and I wish they would.
