Ok, so everybody who's paying attention and isn't a lobotomized Woketardian, saw Senator John Thune (on top of his other historical RINO dalliances) pull a rare parliamentary trick to keep Trump from making recess appointments back in August.
MAGA was pissed.
As we should have been.
It felt like a betrayal.
It was a betrayal.
Or so we thought.
But have you considered the possibility of there being more going on here than meets the eye?
Perhaps Republicans getting mad as hell over it was what we were supposed to feel. Perhaps even your average Dem voters and Independents, the ones who aren't complete maniacs, all saw his own party push back on Trump and his agenda.
Trump could fume, but rather unlike a dictator he was left essentially powerless on the matter.
Does any of that matter when you know ahead of time that you were still going to deliver and get all your appointments through?
Think about it strategically.
If you knew that you were going to use the so-called Nuclear Option in Sept, why wouldn't you absorb a few bruises to hang the blame on your opponent, shield Trump from undue criticism, AND still get the big payoff?
We're seven months in and everyone can see the Dems are keeping Trump from staffing his Administration in an unprecedented matter. It's crystal clear even if you don't like Trump. But this loggerhead legitimately impedes the will of the people, and to the winner go the spoils. Or at least they should.
In fact, that's kind of the point of having elections.
Now, if we all got what we wanted and Trump made a bunch of them over the congressional recess, the left, with gasoline being poured sufficiently all over the matter by the fake news media, would have gone apoplectic over the imagery of Trump acting like a dictator and fulfilling their delusions.
Is that accusation preposterous?
Your bet it is.
Yet we all know that EXACTLY how it would have been sold to the public.
FFW to now and all of a sudden Thune is making clear that he's basically forced to invoke the Nuclear Option on Trump's behalf. Which, if you didn't know, simply means the use of a legislative procedure that requires only a simple majority of the Senate (which they have) to override the standing rule that requires a 3-5ths supermajority (which the GOP d/n have).
This way, Trump isn't directly responsible for what the Senate, despite all their efforts to work with the Dems, including keeping Trump from making those gosh darn recess appointments in August, is now "forced" to pull the trigger.
Think about it.
It makes sense.
And public perception matters.
Food for thought.
Consider me a simple man, if you like. But I think it's ok to expect that we don't live in a country where a half a million children go missing every year.
That's over 1,300 children a day.
Think about that.
For starters, how is that possible - unless allowed to exist. And how in the hell did it get this bad and stay at this level?
