JOBS | Research Associate for project on statistical methodology for prognostic models FT/PT (min 0.5FTE, 18.75 hrs/wk) or job share considered Fixed term contract until 28/2/26 Funded by NIHR Closes 12 Feb @sarahbooth321@MJRutherford9@UoL_Biostats https://t.co/lnLFY7TkwJ
Just finished my research visit at
@UoL_Biostats working on temporal validation of prognostic models for Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) using CPRD data.
Thank you @sarahbooth321
and @MJRutherford9
for the warm welcome and valuable discussions!
I found out last week that I'll be promoted to Professor from August. A good chance to reflect and to thank colleagues/students past & present @UoL_Biostats, in the wider department @UoL_Health_Sci & university, and also collaborators across the UK/world. + thanks for the cake...
Cure Models for HTA: What You Need to Know
Should decision-makers be more willing to use cure models? How do they work? What can go wrong? What on earth are flexible parametric non-mixture cure models??!
Thanks to @MJRutherford9 for writing this with me.

Applications are now open for this new course at @UoL_Biostats. A complementary course to our long-established MSc in Medical Statistics, with extra emphasis on key data science skills, whilst retaining the robustness offered by statistical thought processes.
Research by @NRLatimer and colleagues shows that forcing a marginal hazard ratio to 1 does not accurately assess mean survival difference under individual-level treatment effect waning. More at https://t.co/qKhh6sHLnq. #HEOR#HTA#harzardratio#ValueinHealth
@LSHTM#StataBio24 presenter @betty_syriop from @ki_meb_biostat showed how to perform mediation analysis in the relative survival framework using the stpm3 and standsurv commands; she demonstrated the approach by exploring cancer survival differences across socioeconomic groups.
