The Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court are pleased to welcome the 2021/2022 law clerks, who will spend the next year supporting and learning from members of the Superior Courts Judiciary.
Seeing all my SK friends get vaccinated is bringing me so much joy, I love that so many people I care about are that much safer now. But it also has me refreshing my email every 5 mins in hopes that I magically have an email from BC health that I can book my appointment too 😢
A key upside of exams at home is I can renew my stamina halfway through with cookie dough. Not sure why it took until my last law school exam EVER to realize this. Truly a game changer.
Une expérience formidable d’avoir l’occasion de plaidoyer comme finaliste au Concours Bastarache devant les Honorables juges Constance Hunt, Michel Bastarache et Marc Richard! @UsaskLaw@uocommonlaw@CCLF_uOttawa#bastarache2021
Watching tiktoks each team made to introduce their schools for the Laskin moot was excellent and I hope every appellate level court adopts this procedure in the future.
@chelseybuggie As a sociology major and now law student, I’ve always thought my biggest strength in law school is my sociological lens. I think it allows me to view the people behind the laws, which I consider an asset. It’s discouraging to hear that some profs don’t see the value in this.
In the future, when it comes to speaking French, I will be making a conscious effort not to apologize for my French level and, as it does, nothing but lessen my confidence in the language. (4/4)
As the French mooter on the Laskin moot, I’ve noticed that many guest judges in our practices apologize that their French is not very good prior to judging. Many of them were more than competent speakers (1/4)
I am guilty of this. My experience on the Laskin has made me realize that in the future, I shouldn’t apologize for my French as it is a product of my environment. I am an anglophone from a small town in BC, so how could I expect to have perfect French? (3/4)
One perk of online university/interviews/everything is I only ever have to iron the fronts of my dress shirts now. It’s been a nice upside to the chaos that is everything else.
