5 POWERFUL THINGS
EVERY CATHOLIC SHOULD DO
BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE
1. Make the Sign of the Cross
The Sign of the Cross is a simple but powerful prayer that reminds us we belong to God. It places our thoughts, words, and actions under the protection of the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Beginning your day with this sign is a way of asking God to guide every step you take.
2. Pray the Guardian Angel Prayer
God lovingly assigns each of us a guardian angel to protect and guide us. Before leaving home, ask your guardian angel to watch over you, keep you safe from danger, and help you make holy choices throughout the day. It is a beautiful reminder that you are never alone.
3. Offer Your Day to God
Before facing your responsibilities, offer your entire day to the Lord. Dedicate your work, studies, joys, struggles, and sacrifices to Him. When you offer your day to God, even ordinary moments become opportunities to glorify Him and grow in holiness.
4. Ask for Our Lady’s Intercession
As our spiritual Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary lovingly to intercedes for us. Ask her to guide you closer to Jesus, protect you from temptation, and wrap you in her maternal care. Just as she cared for Jesus, she continues to care for all who seek her prayers.
5. Read One Bible Verse
Start your day by listening to God’s voice through Sacred Scripture. Even a single verse can strengthen your faith, give you wisdom for the day ahead, and remind you of God’s promises.Let His Word shape your heart before the world shapes your mind.
“Leave your house with God, and you’ll never walk alone. And you will start your day joyfully.”
HAVE A POSITIVE AND WONDERFUL MONDAY AND WEEK AHEAD 😇
🚨 BREAKING: President Trump has just FIRED ALL Democrat members of the US Election Assistance Commission (EAC) — NBC
This comes after the SUPREME COURT confirmed the president has full authority to fire heads of agencies across the executive branch, even if they're "independent" 🔥🔥
Of the 3 commissioners ousted, 2 were Democrats, and 1 Republican resigned.
Good riddance! Democrats are LIVID tonight.
In Franca, São Paulo (Brazil), the car of an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion caught fire and was completely destroyed.
Everything inside burned, except the pyx (teca) containing the Most Holy Eucharist, the paper with a prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the cloth that wrapped it.
This moving event from July 2018 reminds us of the living faith of the Church: Jesus is truly, really, and substantially present in the Blessed Sacrament (CCC 1374). Throughout history, God has given similar signs, the Eucharist surviving fire, to strengthen our belief in His Real Presence.
The image below shows exactly this: the preserved pyx with the Host, the prayer card, and the cloth amid the ashes. A visible testimony that "the gates of hell shall not prevail" against the Church and the Eucharist.
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever." (John 6:51)🇻🇦
I love this quote from Cardinal Robert Sarah......
Our world no longer hears God because it is constantly speaking, at a devastating speed and volume, in order to say nothing. Modern civilization does not know how to be quiet. It holds forth in an unending monologue. Postmodern society rejects the past and looks at the present as a cheap consumer object; it pictures the future in terms of an almost obsessive progress.
Its dream, which has become a sad reality, will have been to lock silence away in a damp, dark dungeon. Thus there is a dictatorship of speech, a dictatorship of verbal emphasis. In this theater of shadows, nothing is left but a purulent wound of mechanical words, without perspective, without truth, and without foundation. Quite often “truth” is nothing more than the pure and misleading creation of the media, corroborated by fabricated images and testimonies. When that happens, the word of God fades away, inaccessible and inaudible.
Postmodernity is an ongoing offense and aggression against the divine silence. From morning to evening, from evening to morning, silence no longer has any place at all; the noise tries to prevent God himself from speaking. In this hell of noise, man disintegrates and is lost; he is broken up into countless worries, fantasies, and fears. In order to get out of these depressing tunnels, he desperately awaits noise so that it will bring him a few consolations.
Noise is a deceptive, addictive, and false tranquilizer. The tragedy of our world is never better summed up than in the fury of senseless noise that stubbornly hates silence. This age detests the things that silence brings us to: encounter, wonder, and kneeling before God.
Even in the schools, silence has disappeared. And yet how can anyone study in the midst of noise? How can you read in noise? How can you train your intellect in noise? How can you structure your thought and the contours of your interior being in noise?
How can you be open to the mystery of God, to spiritual values, and to our human greatness in continual turmoil? Contemplative silence is a fragile little flame in the middle of a raging ocean.
The fire of silence is weak because it is bothersome to a busy world.”
—Cardinal Robert Sarah
