Most people reviewing @SpoutFi are talking about the billionaire borrowing pitch.
I read the Terms of Service.
One section changes how you should understand who this product is actually built for.
Here’s what I found.
Section 1.2 says spAssets are offered under Regulation S,That framework covers certain offshore securities transactions with non-US persons.
Spout also states that it does not engage in directed selling efforts in the United States.
That matters.
So who is the core product aimed at?
Non-US users.
People outside the US who have historically had fewer ways to access tokenized US equities, That includes markets like Nigeria, where buying exposure to stocks such as AAPL and NVDA through traditional US brokerage infrastructure isn't always straightforward.
I spent 3 days on Spout testnet to see whether the product matched that positioning.
Real testnet USDC.
Real transactions.
Real bugs.
I wasn't just reading the website, I tested the product.
I bought BSOL twice.
Both trades went through cleanly.
Then I tested the other flows.
Sell button: visible, but no response.
Leverage slider: 1.0x to 2.0x, visible but unresponsive.
Borrow page: promotional screen with no working amount field.
This is where the gap becomes interesting.
The marketing presents one complete journey:
Buy → leverage → borrow → earn.
But the current beta doesn't let you complete that entire journey.
Buy works.
Some of the other core flows are still not functional or testable.
The Earn tab says:
“Coming soon.”
That matters because the product's bigger pitch isn't simply buying tokenized equities, It's giving users access to strategies normally associated with prime brokerage.
The current beta isn't there yet.
And here's the part I think deserves more attention:
The 0% borrowing headline isn't the entire story.
The interesting mechanism is how options strategies, including covered calls, are intended to help subsidize borrowing costs.
That's the part worth watching as the product develops.
For someone in Nigeria holding tokenized AAPL, the potential is bigger than a flashy 0% headline.
If Spout eventually delivers the full flow, the interesting question becomes:
Can someone outside the traditional US brokerage system access institutional-style tools without needing institutional-sized capital?
That's the real test.
I tested the product instead of stopping at the landing page.

$38.86B in real-world assets now live on-chain.
We're past the demo phase.
That's real money, mostly treasuries, private credit, gold, sitting on public rails where anyone can check the receipts.
"Swap" sounds complicated.
It's really just an exchange counter, digitally.
Walk into a bureau de change, turn dollars into naira. A crypto swap does the same with two crypto assets, right inside your wallet.
No bank. No exchange account. One asset for another.

Bitcoin is back. The market is bullish again.
That story is too clean.
Monday’s move was mostly a short-liquidation cascade, More than 90% of peak-hour liquidations were shorts, while open interest stayed elevated as traders reloaded.
The real test starts when the forced buyers disappear.

I'm looking at it from Nigeria.
When you're used to the naira swinging while you sleep, holding a dollar-linked asset in your own wallet, and being able to verify it yourself, is worth understanding.
So the classification is Other crypto-asset.
That small legal distinction matters. Token classification can shape how an asset is treated under EU crypto rules, including regulatory documentation and market access.

The Real whitepaper says it directly:
"This crypto-asset does not qualify as a utility token, as its intended use goes beyond providing access to a good or service supplied solely by the issuer."
It instantly hides your balances and sensitive wallet details, then requires master authentication to unlock.
It won't solve every attack.
But when someone is looking over your shoulder, privacy matters.
