What he said…

And so, the World Cup’s stay in Kansas City has come to an end. And it ended the same way it began 25 days ago, with an Argentinian celebration.

The greatest sporting event in the world outside of the Olympics came to our city and we did more than just hold our own, we dominated. We didn’t just host the party — provide the venue, the refreshments, the music — we did a stage dive right into the middle of it. And our guests took note. Teams, fans, media, everyone was over the moon about Paris of the Plains.

This was a transformational moment in the history of this place we call home. So many people fall in love over one summer with someone they never met before. I feel like we’re going to look back at this as the summer when the world fell in love with Kansas City.

@PaulTenorio @HenryBushnell Such a great article and look into the person Malik Tillman is. Well done, Paul!

The kitchen table in my parent’s house from the time I can remember until I was 30 y/o when the house was sold.

[Growing Up Retro @GrowingUpRetro]

Admit it, you've sat at this table before.

@W_Drehs There’s nothing better than learning that you made a difference in someone’s life. Cheers to you, and keep doing the good work, @W_Drehs.

[Michael Janis @MJanis9]

👀 Wow…as anyone who has worked in sports/entertainment/large event execution knows, this is a big decision made for the right reasons but with HUGE down-trickle work *adjustments* for A LOT of people.

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark tells @CBSSports the league is abandoning its LED glass floor and switching to hardwood overnight for the semifinals and title game the next two days. The coaches have agreed to the switch. Here's Yormark's statement. Story TK.

@W_Drehs You had to have that 50’ long pig-tailed cord on the main phone so you could try to discreetly chat outside of the earshot of your parents.

@downthebyline Shelton 100% ball watching and not thinking he needs to deal with it.

@downthebyline Seriously. The production of these MLS/Apple broadcasts are severely lacking a professional quality.

Sven-Göran Eriksson, who has died aged 76, managed a host of football teams, from IFK Göteborg to Benfica, from England to Mexico. But he was a lifelong Liverpool fan. As a tribute to a great manager I play Liverpool FC’s anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone. #SvenGoranEriksson

Bobby Witt Jr. currently has a .349 batting average, 33 doubles, 10 triples, 22 homers, and 25 steals.

No player in major league history has ever matched that combination.
