I just found out Michael Wright passed away.🤦🏻‍♂️ A lot of our OZ family have gone to the other side. I worked with Mike for 6 years on OZ and we lived 2 blocks away from each other in Hells Kitchen.
I remember one hot summer day I went up to his place and had a beer on his fire escape as he told me stories of how he grew up. We then drove around in his vintage Rolls-Royce, freaking Good times!!
Mike was mesmerizing when he was on screen, his intensity, honesty, and of course that voice! A gifted man!

Ossoff: When he first announced the tariffs, you remember that? He called it Liberation Day, and it crashed the markets because it was clown policy. You remember that?

OK, so follow me through on this. He announces the tariffs on April 2 of last year. The markets tank nonstop for like a week because it’s a disastrous trade policy, and six days into the crash, April 8, Trump buys millions in stock. I’m talking Amazon, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway, and then the very next morning, April 9, he posts on Truth Social, quote, “This is a great time to buy.” Three exclamation marks.

OK, now listen to this. Three hours and 41 minutes after that post, one day after he bought millions in stock, he canceled the tariffs and triggered one of the biggest same-day rebound rallies in market history.

He’s trying to get money. And you saw, now he’s offering paid subscriptions to presidential announcements, right? Just understand what’s for sale here: The sitting president’s pronouncements on war and peace and economic policy delivered first to paying customers.

What an absolute crook.

On this day in 1919, a Black teenager drifted across an invisible line in Lake Michigan. White beachgoers stoned him until he drowned. He was 17.

His name was Eugene Williams. The "line" was the unofficial boundary between the white and Black sections of a Chicago beach. A line drawn on WATER.

Police arrived. Black witnesses pointed out the man who had thrown the stones. The officer refused to arrest him and arrested a Black man from the crowd instead.

That refusal lit Chicago on fire. Thirteen days of white mobs raiding Black neighborhoods, and Black veterans fighting back: 38 dead, 537 injured, roughly 1,000 Black families burned out of their homes.

It began because a child couldn't see a border that existed only in white minds.

The family of the teenager whose body was found off the coast of Mississippi is calling for a "thorough" investigation into their son's death.

Eighteen-year-old Nolan Wells had gone on a boat trip to a nearby island with friends during the Fourth of July weekend but did not return with them. He was the only Black teenager among a group of white friends.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says no foul play is suspected but is calling for any witnesses to come forward.

At a press conference Friday, civil rights attorney Ben Crump said the facts of the case are "not adding up" as Nolan Wells' mother asked for answers.

An official autopsy has been conducted, though it could be weeks before the results are released. Police say the friends who were on the island with Wells are cooperating with the investigation.
