I am unsure how this is something limited to a black family. I am a mixed culture family, but can say growing up my life was very much dysfunctional and not the best environment for raising children. So much so that as a grown adult I am unable to have a relationship with much of my extended family. I personally wanted to get away from that lifestyle and did not want to get stuck in the trap so many people around me were in. My mother also made the move to get off welfare and take up a career to provide for my younger siblings.

Spare us. Most Americans work 220–240+ days a year for far less while actually producing something of value. Congress’s base pay is $174,000 — top 5–10% of U.S. earners — plus generous benefits, staff, travel, and the most valuable perk of all: power and access that many cash in on later.
If the job doesn’t pay enough to attract talent, raise the requirements and impose real term limits. Stop treating it like a lifetime gig with a golden revolving door to lobbying. Do the job well for a term or two, then prove your worth in the private sector like everyone else. The harsh reality is that most members’ “expertise” evaporates the day they leave — because it was never skill, it was insider access.
That’s exactly why voters are sick of the mediocrity. Fix the incentives or own the consequences.

You just post these comments for engagement farming right? Cause if you have been to China you would know the surveillance they have is over the top, not just Beijing. After living in China I can tell you there is nowhere in the States that compares to most cities in China. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, it is just a standard there even DiDi (Uber) vehicles all have cameras set up in each vehicle to monitor the driver and passengers.
