Students were excited to choose a Who Would Win? book to read and then compare and contrast the two animals. Afterwards, they wrote paragraphs using the compare-contrast text structure and had the opportunity to share them with the class. #GLCSRyan#GoGullLake
We had a great field trip to the Air Zoo! Students took a Storm Chasers class to learn about tornadoes and hurricanes, which connected nicely to our study of natural disasters in Science. Afterwards, they had time to explore the exhibits and rides. #GLCSRyan#GoGullLake
It was so fun to have a former student come back and share her knowledge and passion for fossils with my class. What an amazing experience for all! #GLCSRyan#GoGullLake
The Tutor Leadership Group engaged in writing and speaking with purpose as they reflected on their peer tutoring experience so far. They were also very excited to get their new tutoring schedules and continue working with Ryan students! #GoGullLake#GLCSRyan
Teams worked together to read, write and speak with purpose to practice determining a story’s theme. After teams shared their story’s theme, every student responded with a number to agree, add or adjust, leading to great discussion and higher level thinking. #GLCSRyan#GoGullLake
Multiplication Swap was a big hit for practicing multi-digit multiplication! Partner up, solve, check, swap numbers, find a new partner, repeat! Math learners were engaged and having fun! #GLCSRyan#GoGullLake
We had a virtual field trip today to learn about the Screech Owl and its adaptations. What a fun and educational opportunity from a student’s family that connected to our recent Science unit! #GLCSRyan
We kicked off March is Reading Month with Pajama Day and extended reading time as well as chose our first Reading gift bag to open from our classroom book sponsors. #GLCSRyan
Students loved solving multi-digit multiplication problems and self-checking their products with QR codes. They were so engaged in the activity and want to do it again. #GLCSRyan
We had so much fun in Lansing at the State Capitol! Some highlights included laying on the glass floor and being introduced in the House and Senate. Lots of great connections to our Government unit were made! #GLCSRyan
