Michael Jackson’s sound engineer Matt Forger (Thriller-BOTD) talks about his vitiligo, issues with his appearance, the tabloids, the allegations & how Michael’s sparkle changed after the making of Black or White
Controversial figures don’t get:
stadium chants & reactions like this for a 1 minute teaser
thousands of phones recording
teenagers excited
Gen Z influencers reacting positively
pop stars playing their trailers in stadium concerts
Nobody is screaming “Freddie!” or “Elvis!” at a surprise trailer drop.
The public is not afraid to love Michael Jackson openly again, which is a game changer.
Any narrative about the allegations having a longstanding impact has died now.

TOMORROW is opening day for promotion of the #ThrillerChallenge2025! Flyer will be posted and I will be doing a Spaces at 12 pm PT. It will be recorded so if you miss it, you can tune in later. Please remember that all streams count for RIAA certs for the Thriller album.
I hope people realize what happened with Michael Jackson now.
1993
Two men, one dealing with a failing dental business and another with a struggling relationship encounter Michael Jackson who enters their life, a man who quickly becomes a family friend. Evan asks him for 20 million, he’s refused. They hatch a plan to extort him over child molestation accusations
In between
Various disgruntled employees who were fired from Neverland, seek out tabloids offering money for salacious headlines sell stories about abuse to cash in only to crumble under cross examination
2003
A down on their luck family with a child battling cancer encounters Jackson years earlier through some charity, he helps treat his cancer & then years later they ask him for money hoping to cash in on the Bashir interview. They are refused, they change their tune and accuse him of molestation
2019
Two people who were friends with Michael years ago need cash and claim retroactively that Michael abused them after whatever business with the Estate fell apart.
2025
A Man who was friends with Michael for decades is struggling with money over gambling debt in Vegas and tries to extort money out of the Jackson estate hoping to pay it back, threatening to go public with accusations if his demands aren’t met.
See the pattern?
It’s 2025 and many still think Michael Jackson bleached his skin meanwhile he had Vitiligo.
A thread on what Vitiligo is and how it affected MJ’s career!
When Brooke Shields' dad died (2003). Michael Jackson sent her a flower bouquet, he was the very first person to call her when her dad was sick. A few months later the worst time of MJ's life began, Brooke never even called him to ask how he was doing.
I think about that a lot.
